Delicati Effendi

Effendi is a word in Turkish that I have frequently encountered in the novel by Orhan Pamuk.

It is a title of reverence and courtesy assigned to people of recognized authority in the secular professions.

Theeffendiis always welcomed with respect and admiration by others. People often ask for his opinion to settle a doubt or an intricate matter. To me, Aldo Bassi, my friend to whom the composition is dedicated, was similar. He was an extremely delicate character, too. Here is the title of this composition. The piece moves between two themes of quite a diverse character. The most acute will find out that the composition is based upon very few elements masked and concealed
