Melodia Sottomarina

Roberto Rossellini's first opera was a short movie entitled 'Fantasia Sottomarina'.

The short, which tells an octopus's life and adventures, has been shot while filming a little aquarium at the director's home.

A house, even today, a humble residence that I was lucky to visit some time ago

The visionary young artist had opened a glimpse of vivid imagination albeit in harsh conditions, not only concerning technical limitations. We all know what greatness came after that obscure attempt, mostly ignored by many.

With Melodia Sottomarina, I have imagined a movement that ventures into the abysses and that, even there, in complete darkness, discovers fabulous sceneries of life.
